Hi everyone!
I’m so excited to bring to you not only another book in the Independence Island series, but another book from Tabitha Bouldin! Be sure to stop by the other stops for your chance to win other prizes!
We’re all talking about best friends this week, and I’m so incredibly blessed to have three! Because I live so far away from them, I don’t get to see them as often as I would like to, but I always have a great time when I do.
Each one of them supports me in different ways, and I have common interests with each of them. I try to always spend time with all of them while I’m up visiting. There’s nothing more fun then being surrounded by people you care about and who care about you.
Lorna is one of the sweetest girls I’ve ever met. She’s become like a little sister to me at this point. I often joke that every Slytherin (that’s me!) needs a Hufflepuff companion (that’s her!). We enjoy art, Disney music, Harry Potter, and so many other things that can keep us talking for hours! Despite the huge age gap between us, we are very close, and I wouldn’t trade my friendship with her for anything! I can always count on her to cheer me up if I’m ever feeling down.
Carol is closer to me in age, and we both look through very similar lenses. When I’m struggling with something, I can always turn to her for someone to just listen and comfort me. She understands the way my brain works better than most people do, and I am so incredibly thankful for her. In turn, I am able to do the same for her, and I think that’s one of the best parts of having friends. Someone who can support you, and just reassure that you aren’t as crazy as you think you are. Carol is my willing ear and a great comfort.
Ethan tends to bring out my snarky sarcastic side, and we have a lot of fun bantering back and forth. He makes me laugh quite often, and I always have a lot of fun when we hang out. He’s usually there to talk me off the metaphorical ledge so to speak. There has been more than one time where I was really struggling with something (usually schoolwork or even a faulty candle maker) and he’s there helping to calm me down and get me back on track. I can always count on him to be honest with me, and that’s something I greatly appreciate.
I love all three of them and am blessed to be able to call them my best friends. I can turn to them whenever things are tough, and I don’t know what else to do. I always do my best to be there for them as much as they are for me. I get excited whenever a trip up to visit them is planned because hanging out with them is one of my favorite things to do. I’d do it more often if we all lived closer! I don’t know what I’d do without all three of them in my life!
Want to learn more about Stealing the First Mate?
Sometimes, happily ever after is as elusive as a pirate’s treasure.
Darcy Riggins dove headfirst into the online dating pool and sank. Every time.
Her lifelong dream of becoming a wife and mother becomes more elusive every year. So, taking the lack of a Mr. Right in her life as a decided “No!” from God, Darcy gives up altogether.
Single and happy is not an oxymoron. Right?
Nigel Jones has loved Darcy for ages, but her father (his boss, of course) ordered him to keep his feelings to himself, thanks to a stupid mistake that Darcy (thankfully) doesn’t know about. Too bad her dad does.
Being single and content turns out to be tougher than Darcy imagined, and when she begins doubting everything she’s ever known, Nigel decides it’s time to admit his mistakes, tell the truth, and trust God for the outcome.
In this “forbidden-love-meets-friends-to-more” novel, Stealing the First Mate continues the Elnora Island romances of the Independence Islands Series featuring five islands, six authors, and a boatload of happily-ever-afters.
