Robin paced around, out of sight in case the bouncer was still outside the door. Why wasn’t it there? He needed to get back inside. Maybe someone else had taken it. Was there a way to check the other patrons without tipping anyone off? In order to do that, he needed to get back inside. He walked around the building looking for a way he could sneak himself in, but found nothing he could work with.
Deciding to give the roof a try, he scaled the side of the building. He found an opening he could fit himself through and slipped inside. His ankles tingled and the sensation vibrated through his body when his feet fit the floor. He ducked behind a wall when he heard someone walking by.
This was going to be tricky. He needed to be cautious. The money was important, but getting back to Marian was the priority. He couldn’t have her thinking he abandoned her. He found what he assumed were belongings patrons had left behind. If he didn’t want to be recognized and removed again, he would need to change his appearance a little bit. He slipped on a jacket that would hopefully help him lay low.
He maneuvered through people trying to find Marian.
He couldn’t spot her anywhere in the crowd. Where did she go?
Perfect. He didn’t think things could get any worse, but apparently he was wrong.
He’d lost Marian, and he’d lost his bag of gold.
What was he going to do now?
